Photos - Whitehaven Beach, Queensland Australia

Whilst on holiday recently, we stopped off at Whitsunday Island. It reportedly has 6km of the finest sand in the world. Reason being it consists of nearly 100% pure Silica which gives it a truly bright white colour. Apparently it was used in the construction of the Hubble telescope it's just that good.

Sadly the videos I shot are just unbareable to watch due to the reflection, so picture slide show is all I have below, but even they don't do this beautiful beach justice.

Photos - Whitsundays; Hamilton Island. (Aka Fantasy Island!)

So we've been in Melbourne nearly three years, and we never truly went away on a real holiday, as coming here was one big expensive holiday lets face it. However, we were long overdue a break, knackered, pale and unbelievably tired, so my wife (T) and I hopped on a plane early one morning from Melbourne, and literally two hours later, were landing in, and on, Australia's answer in my mind to Hawaii, (only less commercial), Hamilton Island

Smothered in palm trees, luxury apartments, cool blue water, coral reefs and a perfect 25° (in July!), it's paradise, and a great gateway to the Great Barrier Reef.

Just the thing T & I needed to unwind and get work stresses off our minds, and soon enough we began to relax, unwind and rest, aided by a plethora it seemed of ever present cocktails, awesome food, tons to do, and golf carts to usher our fat asses around this ultra cool paradise. Spent the best part of a week here and I loved it. More photos to come of our further adventures through the Whitsunday's soon.
