Rooftop Cinema, Melbourne

One of the best experiences I've had since coming to Melbourne has been to enjoy a movie outside, high up amongst the city's skyscrapers. The Rooftop Cinema is only accessible by a heart attack inducing amount of stairs, or via the wobbly, and decidely dodgy, tiny, polly pocket sized elevator.

The views at the top however are well worth it, as is the great sound, screen, and bar. With faux grass and deck chairs for seating, this is one unique experience.

Clearly seeing the difference...

A year ago to the day, with one eye open, I stared up at a red dot coming from a laser above me. Paused... closed that eye, and then looked again at the red dot with the other eye. At that split second, I'd never look at things in the same way again...

Spending a good part part of my early life having to wear contact lenses & glasses, a mere 30 seconds had changed every single thing around me.

Corrective laser eye surgery is not something I undertook lightly, and only made the decision after many years of deliberation and study. Now with better than perfect vision, and one year on, I can honestly say it was truly, well worth it. Best of all, getting the chance to experience such a change, made me unbelievably grateful and aware of my improved sight.

Of all our senses, vision is the one that if removed, is undoubtedly the most debilitating. Being fortunate enough to have it, lets us see who we are, who our partners and friends are. It lets us often get the true story, and see what people are really saying or feeling, even though the words they speak, tell something else. It's so easy to forget it lets us work, watch, read, play and experience, sights and events and so much more, that is never that easily or quickly described in other ways.

So if this makes you think, for even a second, just about the unbelievable fortune you have, to be able to read this... then this has been worth it... if you see what I mean.

Hello, Bonjour, Ni Hao, Ciao, Aloha...

There are many different ways to greet and welcome people, and I figured a few of the above, were the best way to start off by welcoming visitors to my new [ish] site. If truth be told I've had so many iterations, beta's, versions, and other sites, I decided to start a fresh & from scratch, for many reasons, some you'll come to learn why if your hanging around here.

So, this is my playground. Where I will be waxing lyrical on my take of, what can often be, for many, a pretty crazy & confusing world wide web out there. You'll also get to know what's going on in my little slice of this world. Hope you like it.
