Burgertime! A must read from the mind of Charlie Brooker.

Charlie Brooker writes a biting piece (no pun intended) on the fast food industry in the UK. Well worth reading, Charlie's key part that got me hooked (as if I needed to be) was this corker:

I sat in the window of a McDonald's tucking into a sausage-and-egg McMuffin. It was a bit like sinking my teeth into a small, soft woodland creature with a light dusting of flour; one which thoroughly enjoyed being eaten and responded to each bite by gently urinating warm oil down my chin.

Mmm...Burger time!

Photos - Christmas in July

In Melbourne mid winter, when it’s supposed to be cold ( I still cant get over mid ‘winter’ being a very nice sunny 16°!) many people not native to Australia celebrate Christmas in July. Many bars and restaurants run Christmas specials on the 25th July, and since we arrived in Melbourne, the great group of friends we have, always made a point of celebrating it.

This year started off with some ice skating at Melbourne Icehouse, followed on by Christmas lunch at the Metropolitan hotel in North Melbourne, then back to ours for more.

Cue a really devious version of Secret Santa, cocktails, and yet more food, and, well... I’m knackered.

Great peeps, great day, some daft photos below. And with the next Christmas six months away, it really does feel like Christmas gets closer every year : )
