Who?
By now you may have guessed my name. If not, look... we really need to talk.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, I was always fascinated even from a young age by design, brands, media, & advertising, and originally trained to be a Graphic Designer. To date my career has delved into; People & Account Management, Design & Social Media Marketing, I.T, & Training. With the majority of these roles being in their web based environments.
Customer experience is often referred to in the web space as user experience, or 'UX'. I'd argue customers are more then 'users', but the term is well established, and has always been the backbone of all that I do, and that I enjoy creating. Throughout every job, interacting with people at every level, assisting brands, web sites and services, even whilst producing my own work or coaching others on how to ensure their customer's experience, matters. Nothing beats it! Obviously, there are lots of ways to communicate but the focus I have is on predominantly digital customer experience, whether by web site, mobile, email or other source.
The saying is true, people are people wherever you go, it's just how you communicate and make the experience matter with them that makes the difference. I've worked with some very large blue chip companies and some smaller, family based firms, the experiences of both, have been invaluable. I'm a great believer in people with real experience, to be able to create and understand giving a good experience. While I posses plenty of experience, certification and qualifications, frankly, all the labels, badges, and degrees in the world I believe, cant beat people with experience.

The other stuff
I've been very fortunate to have traveled extensively and continue to do so regularly. Whilst I've lived the majority of my life in the United Kingdom, I've always longed to be be where the sun shines a little more. And as of September 2007, my home became Melbourne, Australia. Some other places I've been and worked;
I also spend a lot of my life in front of screens. During all my time at work, on mobile, or whilst watching movies, tv if I get time, or the odd game, and of course, on the web. I'm an ex professional DJ [truth be told I was never that good, and the hours & travel ain't fun] and still love music heavily. Whilst the web, Tech. & music take up a huge chunk of my personal time, I'm a serious geek and love some Sci-Fi, and am pretty nuts about bits of Star Wars. Nothing wrong with being a big kid at heart in my book.
